Remote Access

Your dev machine, from anywhere

Kaizen Relay connects your local AI coding workspace to your phone, tablet, or any browser — securely and in real time.

How Relay Works

Three steps to remote access

No VPN configuration, no port forwarding. Just a secure relay tunnel.

1

Start locally

Run `kaizen --remote` on your development machine. Kaizen starts the workspace and registers a relay tunnel.

2

Secure relay

Kaizen Relay creates an encrypted tunnel between your machine and the cloud. No ports are exposed publicly.

3

Connect from any device

Open the relay URL on your phone, tablet, or laptop. Your full workspace is available in the browser.

QR Handoff

Scan and go

Kaizen prints a QR code when you start with --remote. Scan it with your phone to open the workspace instantly — no typing URLs.

Note: QR handoff also works with Tailscale for direct local-network connections without the relay.

Security

Built for trust

Remote access to your dev machine demands strong security guarantees.

Encrypted Tunnel

All relay traffic is encrypted end-to-end. Your code never sits unencrypted on third-party infrastructure.

Account Authentication

Relay access requires a Kaizen Plus subscription and is tied to your account. Each machine has its own credential that can be rotated or revoked.
